The Manassas Museum is located within Old Town Manassas, which provides visitors with opportunities to walk or drive through elegant architectural designs as well as explore downtown shopping and services. Established in 1974, the museum holds a wealth of information with aims to interpret the history and material culture of Manassas and the Northern Virginia Piedmont region. Museum collections include prehistoric tools, costumes, quilts and other interesting items reflecting the community’s past including an extensive photograph collection that depicts the people, events and sites that now rest in the past of this historic area. Also nearby is the Manassas National Battlefield Park.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Bull Run Marina Regional Park is less than ten miles from the community of Manassas Park. Located on the waters of the Occoquan Reservoir, Bull Run Marina is part of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority’s 5,000 acres of preserved Bull Run Occoquan Stream Valley land. This location is used for high school crew practice as well as fishing and boating with the proper permits. Hikers and equestrians may also indulge in the 17.5-mile Bull Run-Occoquan Trail system.
